Finish The Year Strong

It occurred to me as I was compiling my outfit of the day post, that there is always so much emphasis on the start of the year. We discuss making it a great start, what tools we need to do so, and basically making sure we start the new year with a bang. But what about ending the year strongly? At the end of the year we tend to just be glad that it’s ending. Lol! More often than not we start to think about the holidays and all the hustle and bustle they bring and get plain old exhausted! We tend to forget that it doesn’t have to be that way. The holiday season can actually be a time of joy and comfort. To get to this mindset, think of all the things the holidays brings: warm comfort foods, it’s often a time when great items are sold that cannot be purchased earlier in the year, time with family, gatherings with friends that come to town. There are a ton of things to be thankful for, which can switch our outlook from pressure to calmness. Why don’t we try a shift in our perception of the end of the year? Let’s go from the usual, “Gee, I’m glad this year is over!” to, “I’m gonna finish this year out strong. I’m choosing the celebrate the great things that have happened this year and look forward to next year.” This tweak in perspective can be a major lift in our spirits, the holiday ones included.

Part of the way I’m changing gears and ending the year strongly is with apparel. It’s officially coat season! I could look at this time and complain about the cold or I can celebrate that it’s the season for awesome outerwear and dress to slay the snow. Of course I’m doing the latter. This Olivia Pope level coat-age does just that. Would you look at the panels in this coat! It’s serving full on cape, yet warmth, with some awesome tweed. Let’s rock the end of the year, together! If you’ve got outwear you love, tag us in your posts. We’d love to see how you finish this year strong.
